It's costly - by Admin
Removing Graffiti in the United States per YEAR alone costs over 7 BILLION dollars. Yes, that is with a B! That means after 2 years, we could have a richer man in the world than Bill Gates if the money was to go into someone's pockets instead of graffiti removal. If people would grow up, and learn that graffiti is not a joke maybe we could save tax dollars and put them into more beneficial use, such as roadways, airports etc. It is not only a pricey hobby, but it is also dangerous. We have numerous news articles filled with tragic stories regarding a graffiti artist getting hit, killed or shot by police. If you see a graffiti artist doing graffiti... Simply report it. If it's currently being done, call 911 (999 in the UK). If it's just to report a prior graffiti act, search in google your cities graffiti hotline. -by Admin- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Writing on the wall, and art - by Admin The most common excuse for graffiti is "it looked better than a blank wall". What the artist forgets, it's not his canvas. People's property cannot be abused. If a graffiti artist wishes to graffiti his own property that is not viewable by others, than he should have the ability to do so. Graffiti is the LACK of respect of others. Is this really art? Some graffiti could be described as art, however scrabbled letters in my eyes isn't art. |
